Desri Merline Claudia Sancho-Alder, a longtime resident of the Rock aways passed away on January 19. Sancho-Alder, who was born in Guyana, had been living in the Rock aways and working as a nurse for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Alonzo, Gustavus, RoseAnn and Buddy Sancho. She is survived by her children, Jacent, VereAnn, Davese, Leah and Vasco; her grandchildren, Nickecia, Shomari, Errica, Chennel, Dameo, Devante, Brianne, Justin, Bobby, Tyra, Jasmine, Shanniece, Dante and Vakel; her aunt Stella Dover; her nieces and nephews, Olive, Shelon, Monte, Alphin, Teresa, Steven, Michael Sancho Jr., Michael, Ronald and Stephan; her siblings, Ruby, Olive, Eula, Barbara, Dora, Phyllis, Alwyn, Cecil and many other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements were en trust ed with Jeremiah C. Gaffney's Funeral Home, with a service at Battalion Pentecostal Church in Arverne.
