Masked men steal guns from home

Two masked men broke into a house at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke-Linden Highway yesterday and stole two firearms and a video camera.
So far one person has been arrested and is helping police with their investigations.
Police in a statement said that around 9:45 am Bibi Sancho secured her Lot 377 Yarrowkabra home which is in the upper flat of a two-storey building and went out for a while leaving her maid in the lower flat of the building. The two suspects broke a window on the lower flat, entered the building and tied up the maid after which they broke into the upper flat and stole a .380 browning pistol, a 12-gauge single barrel shotgun and a video camera.

Michelle Sancho Remanded Accused of Ganja in Egg Trays

Woman accused of ganja in egg trays remanded

A 36-year-old Turkeyen woman who was allegedly caught at the Ogle airport with cannabis concealed in a stack of egg trays was on Friday remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
Michelle Sancho, a shopkeeper of Lot 478 Third Street, Turkeyen denied a charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, when it was read in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on May 13, Sancho had in her possession 280 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Reports are that on the day in question ranks from the police narcotics branch acting on information received went to the Ogle airport.
When Sancho arrived, the ranks identified themselves and asked to search the goods she was taking to Ekereku in the Cuyuni/Mazaruni area.
During the search according to reports, a stack of five egg trays was searched. When ranks removed all the eggs on the top tray they discovered two holes with two black bags stuffed inside.
A search of the trays unearthed a quantity of cannabis leaves, seeds and stems.
She was told of the offence and arrested.
Sancho was represented by attorney-at-law Vic Puran.
The matter will continue at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
